TVAA Boys Basketball Preview
The TVAA Boys Basketball playoffs begin on Wednesday, Febrary 15th. The Juniata boys basketball team finished at the top of TVAA West division as well as first in the league with a record of 11-2. The Indians are led by junior, Ben Lauver (19 PPG) and senior, Tyler Clark (12 PPG). Sophomore Bryson Clark is second in the league with 65 assists. Juniata will play Millersburg who defeated Lancaster Country Day in a play in game 52-49, as both teams finished with an 8-5 record in the Eastern Division. The Indians are led buy seniors, Christian Wingard (22 PPG) and Matt Snyder (12 PPG). Sophomore Connor Zimmerman leads the league with 32 3-pt shots.
Leading the Eastern Division is the Halifax Wildcats with a 10-3 record that earned them a spot in a semi-final showdown between Newport who placed second in the West Division trailing Juniata with a 9-4 record. The Wildcats are led by freshman Nathan Blasick (13 PPG) and Junior Luke Blasick (11 PPG). Sophomore, Dylan Wells is third in the league with 48 assists. Newport senior, Noah Reich leads the team with 16 PPG while junior, Tevin Gonzalez leads the team with 33 assists.
The winner of both these games will play each other in the TVAA Championship Game that will take place on Friday, February 17.
