Baseball Championship Set
The TVAA Baseball Championship is set as the Juniata Indians will face the Susquenita Blackhawks on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00 PM. The game will be hosted by Newport.
The Juniata Indians traveled to Halifax on Wednesday to take on the Wildcats. The Indians used 10 hits and 4 Wildcat errors to score 8 runs in their 8-4 victory. Donovan Ranck went 3 for 4 at the place with two RBIs to help lead the way for Juniata. Korey Martin pitched a complete game striking out 7 batters, allowing 5 hits, and 1 walk in the victory. Luke Blassick was on the mound for Halifax giving up 10 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4 in the loss.
Susquenita reaches the title game with a 5-0 shutout of Upper Dauphin. The Blackhawks were led by Dane Barrick who pitched a complete game shutout giving up just 3 hits and allowing no walks while striking out 6 batters. Susquenita used 8 hits to score 5 runs in the win.
